Steph & Ash from the popular Tampa-bay podcast, Live Bold + Boss Up, sat down with OnTask President Steve Wilson to chat about his journey with OnTask, and how a small product turned into a powerful workflow automation company. The Live Bold + Boss Up podcast focuses on giving listeners information on emerging business trends, important developments, and tricks to boss up and stay elevated. This interview took place at Tampa Bay Tech’s PowerUp Tech fest during the month of May. This event is designed to connect business and tech leaders across counties and inspire innovation.

OnTask originally started as a way for team members at Accusoft, a 30-year-old tech maverick in Tampa Bay, to automate their own tedious paperwork that was handed between employees and managers in a red folder. After much success, OnTask grew into its own company aimed at simplifying other companies’ “red folder” dilemmas. During the pandemic, new use cases popped up for OnTask related to digital work and COVID-specific tasks like vaccine proof collection, remote employee contracts, as well as digital patient intake forms, and digital waivers.

This gave Steve and his team the opportunity to serve a variety of different clients, such as those in higher education, the medical industry, petting zoos, and aquariums, as well as large-scale wedding venues that needed to collect paperwork for their attendees. OnTask’s cloud-based system allows users from anywhere in the world to automate their processes.
