A New UI Designed with You in Mind

In our line of work, technology changes at the speed of light. To keep up with best practices and deliver the best experience possible, OnTask has a new and improved look. The launch of our new user interface (UI) checks the boxes on all current industry standards and heavily takes into account the feedback we’ve heard from our customers over the past year.
It’s All About Feedback
One of the things we hold most important at OnTask is customer experience, so we’re looking for feedback or suggestions from our users on how we could make their life easier. Over the past year, we’ve been asking more questions in order to enhance our UI in this major update. The top requests we received from users included the following:
- A top-level view for better visibility
- Easier navigation
- Less clicks to find what they needed
- Better visibility for workflows
After endless hours of development and testing, our new UI was born. OnTask’s new interface takes all the requests mentioned above into consideration and delivers a more streamlined experience with easy access to the different features of OnTask. Let’s take a look at what’s new.
Putting Important Features Front and Center
One of the recurring pieces of feedback we heard was that users wanted more visibility, and some type of homepage interface that gave them a view of their workspaces, organization standing, and the quick-start options available to them. Inspired by these requests, our engineering team created a new overview screen that does it all.
Organization details, workspaces, and members are now front and center for better visibility. This top-level overview checks a couple of boxes by also giving customers quick access to everything they need in a central area of the platform. We’ve also added options to send an item for signature, create a reusable form or document template, and build a custom workflow right from the main navigation of the overview screen.
Inspiring Fewer Clicks
Efficiency is as important to us as it is for our users. Another feature request we heard was that customers wanted to access what they needed with fewer clicks. All information is front and center in the dashboard, but we’ve also added a side navigation bar in the platform with options to visit our new document center, access templates, or visit the OnTask template library to choose and customize a template.
This new feature cuts down on the time users may have spent looking for what they need, creating true efficiency nirvana.
Creating Better Visibility for Workflows Builders
Better visibility for templates and workflows was another major request from customers, so we’ve revamped the way templates are shown within OnTask. We wanted to create an experience where users could get a quick overview of everything they’ve created with an intuitive way for them to make edits, launch, or check on status.
Now, you can see all of your templates by name, add a description for others in your organization to see, and even search by name in the newly added search bar. You can also run a template and quickly make edits using the icons on the card, as well as view any in-progress instances for a pulse-check on workflow progress. Now, you can even select all templates to make bulk modifications or run everything all at once. The power is all yours when it comes to managing your templates.

Give It a Try and Tell Us What You Think
We can tell you about the new UI, but the best way to experience it is to try it out for yourself. Whether you’re a new or existing customer, or just giving OnTask a try for the first time, you’ll be automatically opted-in to the new experience. And, we’d love to keep hearing what you think. In the top, right-hand corner of the new dashboard, there is a button for you to leave your thoughts or you can fill out this quick feedback survey to let us know how we can continue making the lives of you and your employees easier in the future.
